Ruger 10-22

Hope someone can help.
I am trying to remove the front sight on a 10-22. Which way should the front sight come off, right to left or left to right, or doesn't it matter. Seems to really be stuck.

If you havent put your post on RIMFIRECENTRAL---I would do so , lots of 10-22 stuff going on there. Might get a quicker reply.
