Today I took a break from setting up my CZ 457 Varmint and took my Ruger 10/22 with Feddersen 16 inch barrel to the range with me. It was a lot of fun and the gun shot quite well with CCI-SV, SK Standard Plus and SK Semi Auto putting some .3 inch groups up at 50 yeards.
I still have some work to do. I mounted the action in a Stocky's Euro Stock recently and today I was having trouble dropping the magazines. I think it needs a little sanding and that should do the trick. I also had a bear trying to release the bolt. I need to clean this gun and play a little with the bolt release.

CCI-SV did ok at 50 yards on the top and bottom rows while SK Standard was next and SK Semi Auto was the third row. It's shooting on par with my CZ 457 Varmint. The biggest difference is the trigger. Varmint has a 4 ounce trigger and the Ruger has a 1 pound 3 ounce trigger. It breaks fast with little take-up and hardly any overtravel being a Power's Custom Trigger. I wanted a Kidd but it didn't fit in the Aluminum Housing.
My friend brought along his Savage Mark II and had problems from the get go. After two sets of 5 his trigger wouldn't set. For the rest of the day I lent him my CZ 452 American and he's now a convert. I only wish it still had the OEM stock but I replaced it over 20 years ago with a Richard's Microfit stock. Looks good and shoots better.
He now has a gun that he can compete with. I gave him the CZ so he wouldn't have any more excuses.
