RUGER #1 TRIGGER

The Canjar set trigger for the #1 would go that low in set mode. Canjar is long gone and the likelihood of finding the trigger for sale is extremely low. Brownells used to sell the Kepplinger #1 set trigger, but it is not available from them now. I don't know of any other light pull triggers for the #1.

I saw the Kepplinger but I believe it only goes down to 16 oz.
Jard also makes a 16 oz trigger.

Spoke to Canjar and they might put a #1 trigger "in the works" if interest warrants tooling up.

Thanks RWO.

Paul,

I have the Jard trigger and it is down at 12ozs, perhaps a bit less in fact. I'd rate it as good as something like a Rifle Basix or Timney for a Rem 700. I don't feel I'm pulling against anything during the shot release, the rifle just seems to fire, which to me is the mark of a good trigger. I don't think there is anything else that comes close for the No. 1.

I put a Moyers trigger in mine years ago, but I see Brownells no longer lists them. Put out an ad for one.

After searching everywhere I could think of, I finally settled on the Jard and ordered one.....thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Paul do you have special powers or has someone started making Canjars triggers again ? Do you have any contact info. ?

The original Canjar Co. has been gone for 30 years or more.

Thanks

Hi Hal,

I made a mistake by naming Canjar.......it should have read Timney Triggers.

I called Timney directly and mentioned that there weren't any light weight triggers available for a #1 and that it seemed like a lot of #1 owner's were looking for a good replacement trigger that was 8 oz or less. I believe that this is something they have thought about/are thinking about IF they find the interest is enough to warrant producing this trigger. Fellow shooters calling them and expressing interest would go a long way in helping them make up their mind.

I read someplace that someone was making a few of the Canjar style trigger again. I thought maybe you were on to something.
