Ruger #1 Help

I hope to me obtaining a ruger #1 friday. I hope somone on here can help by telling me a good gunsmith for the ruger. I want to put on a new barrel chambered in 6mm super lr. Hopefully in Ga or close to it any help would be greatly appreciated. It is a 22-250 now.

Penrod Precision specializes in Ruger single shots. I had him do a tough fix on a 40x rimfire and was impressed by the workmanship so I have no qualms recommending him.

Does the forarm attachment block have to be removed? That is one worry of the gunsmith that I use.

If your gunsmith is 'worried' you need another gunsmith. There is a guy at my range that calls himself a gunsmith but he is really just a hack. Your guy may be competent on some things but Ruger single shots really should be done by people familiar with their weirdness.

THis guy is really good I have no doubt he could do it but I just can't talk him into it.

No it doesn't! There are several ways to do it. Just get someone that is competent! Greg
