RUAG making 6.5 Creedmoor ammo/brass

RUAG is making 6.5 Creedmoor ammo/brass and is being tested as we speak. So far so good! Finally some very high quality Creedmoor brass!

I haven't had issues with Hirnady brass yet but
Higher quality brass is always welcome.

Maybe we can up that pressure a bit and hit higher velocities.

Good to know but the important question is: can we get it in the USA? People seem to love RWS 300WM brass, but it's hard to come by, for example.

Prime 130 6.5 CM run last week: 2827 fps MSV.3, SD 8.8/ES 20. Decent accuracy. Good enough for me at this point. Good brass left over. What's not to like?

Lowlight's review of the Prime 260 ammo said it was loaded by RUAG, but the brass was Norma. I would think the 6.5 Creedmoor would be the same.

The thread on the Hide suggests the brass is made by Ruag who also makes Norma brass.

"Ruag ... who makes a lot European ammo, like Norma."

I may have misinterpreted what he was saying. Seems clear the brass and bullets are Norma.

This is funny turn of events for me. I have a 6X47 Swiss Match. The brass I have is RAUG and pretty good quality. Knowing that it was going to expire some time I started searching for a replacement for it knowing that they do not import it into the USA. Figured out how to Turn 22-250 Brass into 6X47 SM and its alot harder than you would think with its super long neck. ( collapses shoulders) Then On a whim I ran a 6.5X47 Lapua Case in my die... Badda Bing... And good Lapua Brass with a small primer.... No need to search further.

The RAUG brass seems to be no better or worse than the Lapua Brass I have. Pretty good stuff but Not LIKE end of the world good.

I was hoping RUAG actually made the brass as their brass has always been top notch. And no doubt Norma is good, it has soft case heads but very consistent. I guess I'll just use 22-250 Lapua brass necked up.

Bear in mind that Norma is owned by RUAG so there is likely to be much inter use of components. RUAG ammunition is certainly of good quality.

RUAG owns both the Norma and the RWS brands and facilities. So Norma brass is RUAG brass, and so is RWS brass. But sadly Norma brass is not RWS brass.

I emailed PRIME ammonand asked what brass they used for 6.5 creedmoor.
They told me Norma.
So it's confirmed by PRIME.
