Rough chamber shoulder what to do?

Well I have been battling the hard bolt lift on my Savage 22-250 with a McGowen barrel on it. I had the barrel off today and was looking down the barrel. The shoulder of the chamber is very rough. I have no idea how it got this way. I run the headspacing very close to the minimum, It looks like rocks have been chambered in it. I do have a 22-250 reamer (JGS sammi) if I remember correctly. The barrel was chambered by McGowen is this something to lightly hand ream to clean up, or set it back and cut through all the trash, I would not mind the throat being longer as I am jumping the 80 grain Bergers 0.120" and have them crammed way down in the brass.

Thanks guys!!!

I'd definitely run the reamer in by hand with a proper bushing on the end. Go lightly and see if a person thousands or two will clean it up. Worse case if you have to go deep, just need to take a few K off the shoulder and counterbore.

Luckily its on a Savage so there is a barrel nut to help out. I will call McG in the morning, I was not the original owner of the barrel so I do not know how that would be handled. I got it from a guy that put less than 100 rounds for it and sold all his Savage gear and went custom rifle. Depending on how it goes talking to McG ill go from there. I do not know if the bushing on it is the correct size. I need to order a bushing set and keep forgetting to.
