Rossi RH .45 Colt

I have a RH in .45 Colt with 12 inch barrel. Ql shows a maximum of 14000 psi. Supposedly there are +p loads available.

My question. What has anyone used as a pressure for these guns. I have read of up to 52000 for a RH. Is this wrong. the TC and Contender pistols can take a high pressure load (I just don't know how high) . I have some 300 and 340 .452 Cast and some H110. Also use QL.

This is for protection in Grizzly country.

I won't list my 45Colt loads since they are for a fully supported chamber in a FreedomArms Model 83 cylinder.(320gr @1850fps)

Remove the front sight from your Rossi when packing in grizz country.

The Rossi Action is very stout! I have one with a longer barrel than the RH and it handles heavy loads just fine.
Look at handloads.com and click on 45colt +p. There are lots of loads with heavy bullets.

Ask Rossi as they offer the RH in .454 Casull as well.

Tried asking Rossi but they just say to stick with normal Colt 45 loads. Nor would they give out the pressure the barrel and action are capable of withstanding.

Been there and understand that they can be loaded up from normal, but it seems to say only for TC/Contender pistols. Nothing about the Ranch Hand with 12" barrel.

I want as stiff a load as the gun can safely handle. Accuracy is a moot point as would be used in close quarters.
