Ron Hoehn

You don’t have to be a bench rest shooter to know Ron Hoehn. Sadly I must tell you I just read on another shooting site that we will have to speak of Ron in the past tense. He was a true friend to me, bench rest, and to all shooters. He will he sorely missed by all. Rest In Peace my friend.

Sorry to hear.
Ron was quite popular, and well liked by those who knew him. Rest in Peace, Prayers to the Family

I met him once when I was at the St Louis range shooting a rifle, great guy and very helpful. A few years later I ordered some stuff and went to give a CC number and he said "no I'll just bill you." He tr4usted other shooters to buy most any thing on your word. I would have crawled to MO if I had too, to pay some one like that.

Very sorry to read about that. He was a good fellow in my limited experience with him. WD

I am also a member of the St Louis Bechrest Rifle club, where Ron was on the Board of Directors forever. His shop is just outside the front gate of STL BRRC.
I got started in benchrest by Ron, and he also built and rebarreled rifles for me. A very nice guy, willing to share his knowledge, and offered to help me on the range as I learned about benchrest shooting.

When you stopped in his shop, he always had time for you, and he would be happy to take the time to discuss anything related to accurate shooting.

Ron once told me that if a benchrest guy won a match wearing purple underwear, the next match, everyone had on purple underwear. If he had told me to wear purple underwear, I would have.

He will be missed.

My condolences and prayers to Ron's family. I always enjoyed visiting with him. I am glad I go to see him recently the first of April. We have lost a good one.

Looks like Ron's not going to have to pay the bounty on that barrel I pitched over the bank on the big numbered end of the range at St Louis. Last I knew it was up to 50 bucks. Had lots of fun playing cards, bantering, and betting with him.

RIP Ron
