Rocky XXXXIIII (Even more stock making:)

Gold $$ Contributor
Ok @joshb, more stock making for you.... My buddy Tom is the stockmaker, but he doesn't post here, so he gets all the credit...I'm just machining the buttplates and doing the barrel work...he wood, me metal.

Tom did the pauduc/maple stock for the Borden I built on in 223 Ackley. I posted some pics in the 22 caliber section...Anyway, we found a couple of consecutive serial number Bordens on here and Tom rogered up to do the stocks for these guys in Walnut and curly maple, so we are rolling on both now...one buttplate complete and he is shaping the first after the bedding was complete. Enjoy:cool:

OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:eek::D

"My buddy Tom is the stockmaker"

"I'm just* machining the buttplates and doing the barrel work."

Quite a great melding of skills!

BTW, if my memory is correct, several months ago there was a thread in the Antique Machinery forum on the practical machinist site about your brand of milling machine.

Thanks for sharing.

*Understatement of the day, I'll bet you also have a killer street sleeper AMC product that is "just a Rambler"

Thanks for the kind words sir...the old Rambler makes the right noises and runs 9.70s @137 on a sniff of nitrous...Tom got me into doing other stuff besides going in a straight line too, so now the "wife's other car" is a Honda S2000 for track days. Hehe, be safe and well all...and if you can, go shootin!!

Very nice! That's gonna look great all finished.
I wouldn't know where to begin to build my own.

Well Brett, I can't lay down colors like you, that's for sure!! You do some absolutely beautiful work:cool:
Thank you sir.
God gave us all special skills.
Out of the stocks I've handled I'd like to see one with...
The butt of a Cerus
Wrist/grip of the Sitman
Forend of xring
I can see it in my mind but know idea how to make it happen.

Hmmm, just might have to take a look at them...Tom has done all this so far without the aid of a duplicator...but he is starting work on a homebuilt CNC machine. Update 5/22 pic attached
