RL-33 for 6.5-284

Anybody using RL-33 with the 140gr Hybrid Berger with good results? My barrel is throated for a 3.220" OAL just shy of the lands.

Hmm...I thought I was getting to extremes using Re25 in mine. Since Re25 is the slowest Alliant powder that both Nosler and Lyman used in the 264 WinMag with 140s, my opinion is that Re33 would be WAY too slow for the 6.5-284.

Fill the cases, set the loading block on top of the vibratory tumbler for a few mintues, stuff some more in the cases, repeat.

Some have opined that RL-26 would be too slow for the 6.5-284. The results I've obtained offer a strong counter argument.

That's right - you never know until you try. Within some boundaries, anyway.

I wouldn't tell nobody, just go out and shoot that small group at 1000 and grin

I use around 56-57 grains of Retumbo for hunting, so you won't know if you don't try!
