RL 19 substitutes

I have a 30 hart, its a 300 wby with a 40 degree shoulder. The current load is a 180 nosler ballistic tip and 81 grains of rl 19. I heard of 1 guy 77.5 grains rl 19 210 berger.

I want to shoot a bigger bullet with a less temperature sensitive powder what our my options? H1000 with more grains? maybe the 230 berger hybrid

H 4350 is close to the same burn rate as Re19. I know the match shooters are shooting it in their 300 WSM's with a 210 Berger. The accuracy is great. If you want more speed you want to try H4831. H1000 may also work. Matt

If I were going to the 230 grain in that sized case it would be with Retumbo. I shoot the 230 OTM Hybrid ahead of Retumbo in my 300 Win Mag with great results. Velocity from a 26" 1 in 10 twist is 2811 average with an SD of 2 (last time I checked). The bullet stabilizes well all the way to and past 1000 yards but I wouldn't use it with anything less than the 10 twist.

The powder for velocity probably would be Re33. Everything we put it in went way faster and less pressure. It also was very accurate. I know guys have put 7828SSC in a 300 WSM and if throated out far enough for the big 230 Berger, got 3000 feet a second. Velocity can be attributed to throat sometimes. Matt
