I love that range for HP. Well run matches, challenging range and social hour in the pits after the match.

There is a two day midrange match this weekend, and the Confederate Nationals in April should not be missed.

I'm planning on going to Sunday match this weekend. I shoot Fclass.
 
Those midrange flags often point in different directions.

Great range, great shooters, great guys running the show.

Let us know how it goes.
 
I was planning to go both days this weekend. Then I was called in to work. Something about a hurricane or some such...
 
Beautiful range has pistol, cowboy, 500m Silhouette, 600yd range with butts, picnic area, etc. Great supervision and very well run matches.

Rising sun will be at your back. More or less that makes the shot direction E to W. Google maps makes it look more SE to NW, which might be right. In the fall and winter months the sunrise is more SE than due E.

Are you thinking about light or wind?
 
Nice range, people. But having won about 40% of two matches last year outright, never received an award or 1 cent paypack. Confederate matches paid well for high scoring.

It's been a long time since I've shot there and never finished in the money. My buddies tell me the match director often holds their winnings and pays out on their next visit. So they don't seem to be in the habit of sending checks. I also seem to recall that there are not separate winners for F-TR and F-Open. All the F-Class are grouped together, so you can shoot the highest F-TR score and get left out of the money.

I bet if you contact the match director, things will be resolved to your satisfaction.

I suppose so but when they know you traveled over 2000 miles, A check might be the way to go. I don't make it a habit traveling that far to be "forgotten". This is in the sling category, mid range and XTC.
 
Somehow forgot to post back. Had a great time and shot well. Finished second overall in Fclass, was first in FTR but they don't award it like that. So was proud to hang in there with my 308 against the 7mms. Great range and seemed like good group of guys. Will be back this year to shoot some more matches

No shame in getting beaten by Allen Caswell, if he's the only guy who scored higher. That gentleman can shoot very, very well and seems to have an unlimited equipment budget. Next time I run into him, I need to find out who builds his rifles.

He shot 591-26x. I had 589-30x. FTR vs Fopen rig. I was pleased
