Has your 513T receiver been drilled and tapped for scope bases?Want to mount a scope on my Remington 513T ..What do you have that will work~?
Not yet. I'll let the gunsmith take care of the drilling and tapping. It's a US PROPERTY marked example which was delivered to the military in 1940 and has a Redfield receiver mounted peep sight with a front mounted Lyman 17A.Has your 513T receiver been drilled and tapped for scope bases?
We're of the same mind set. Although my 513 is in really great shape with a a shiny 'like-new' bore, I don't see any collectors chasing them for any kind of serious money. $400 to $800 doesn't impress me. I paid less than $300 for mine and it's in super condition for having been built in 1940. So why not alter it to satisfy myself~? I've already refinished the wood and it looks really, really good.Great, your gunsmith will take care of it. He can drill, tap and install a set of the appropriate Weaver bases and you can install whatever Weaver style rings you like. I’m partial to Burris Signature Zee rings.
Some people are going to say you are decreasing the value of a collectible rifle. I’m not in that camp. I shoot my rifles. Good luck.
