I have a Savage F class in 6mm br and using Farrel bases and your exact scope I used 30mm Burris Sig. Zee rings in med. height and have about 1/8" under the sun shade.

It depends on the height of the base, and how much clearance you want under the objective. Do the math, then choose base and rings accordingly.
