I have one just like it. I believe it is called a 30 short rimfire.

thx, my uncle got it at a yardsale bullet box. the bullet is wider than the brass measurement ,so 30cal seems right.

There was a little revolver made for a .30 cal rimfire around 1880s--saw one once that a co-worker inherited. Odd ball for sure, I think Rem or S&W. Major brand as I recall.
