Rimfire cleaning

Hello all and happy, happy, happy new years !

I was curious to others rimfire cleaning procedures..
I keep my actions and trigger groups spotless, push a few patches through the barrel and thats about it maybe 1x or 2x a yr ill clean the barrel till its spotless
Or if my gun has been in the rain..

What is your procedures?..how often do you scrub out your rimfire barrel...and what is the best rimfire barrel cleaner you have found..
I have become kind of particular to Montana extreme rimfire solvent...the Olympic formula..hahaha
But im always open to try something new.,and exciting

I use Wipe Out and then Tetra carbon remover followed by Tetra light lube

I have switched to the Boretech C4 carbon cleaner. I intend to try their rimfire blend. I run two wet patches and one dry patch after shooting. I also clean the chamber pretty thoroughly to prevent carbon ring build up. Usually I will wet a patch with the C4 and let it soak in the chamber for awhile, then dry patch it out. It's a lot easier to keep the carbon ring from forming than it is to get rid of it after it's there.

I also wipe down the outside, clean the bolt face, etc, after every shooting outing.

I am a firm believer in cleaning my rimfires after each shooting session. Typically a few wet patches followed by a bore brush, about 25 cycles, and then some dry patches. A couple of oil covered patches and I am done.

Please post your thoughts on the rimfire blend. I stopped using it because the rimfire blend did/does nothing on the carbon ring based on my experience. BT's carbon remover works well with short soak time and minor brushing.

I have a 22 mag that was incredibly accurate when new. In an attempt to not screw it up, I was very gentle cleaning it. Very little brushing, and I used a lot of stuff like ballistol and kroil. Nevertheless, the accuracy dropped off and the borescope showed lots of carbon. After a scrubbing with iosso, it’s shooting like new again.

Ive been using the rimfire blend since it came out. It works very well to not scorched earth clean it like an eliminator would. It also doesnt rust CM barrels like eliminator. Nothing will keep you from having to deal with the carbon ring except abrasives though, either a paste or brush
