Rimfire 12 Gauge Shotgun Shells Boulder Buster

Hello,

We use a shell with a tool called a Boulder Buster. A rock is drilled and then this tool is set in the hole with a shell. The hole is filled with water and when set off it it is set off it cracks the rock. The company has gone out of business and we can no longer get the shells. Is there a way that we could make these for our own personal use.

If someone could tell me if these 12 gauge shells are special and what Rimfire Primer this is.

Picture and Shell Data is attached.

Thank you

That looks like either a 22 or 27 caliber "anchor setting" blank. Does the 12 gauge shell have powder, or just rely in the rimfire blank to provide the blast? Look up 'power fasteners' for the rimfire blanks.

Is that a “C” on the back? If so like gary said those are 22 blanks. Go to your hardware store and say “wheres your ramset ammo”

The Rimfire Primer, ignites the Smokeless Powder that is inside the cartridge

If theyre out of business id go get a case of the blanks you can buy locally and take them to a machine shop to make new tools that fit your locally acquired components

did you find it?

on another note lets see some pics of that extra300 (one of my dreams)

A Ramset .25 fits great in a shotgun shell when used with a press. As far as the powder is concerned I was told to use Accurate No. 7. Problem is the powder is not igniting.

As for the Extra. Best plane I have ever flown. :)
