Right out of the box!

Remington M700 SPS I just put a scope on using my hunting ammo which has been loaded two years and I know the neck tension has tightened up on it! Normally I seat .010" long and then reseat before using but I didn't take time to do that with these rounds. Nor did I take time to go the 'modern route' of break-in procedure; just ran a patch through the bore and shot! If weather good tomorrow I'll load fresh ammo with same load and refine zero from 200 yards. Bought this for my step-grandson for Christmas. Bullets are 150 gr. AccuBond.

Normally I don't put much stock in 3 shot groups but since my son asked me to shoot three rounds and text him a photo....I did. From the hunter or target shooter perspective I think what's really important (possibly not most important) is where the FIRST round is going to impact! This lets the hunter take home backstrap and the target shooter have confidence in his zero. Initially this was an endeavor to just 'get it on paper' but the rifle/load did give me an indication that it's going to be a shooter! Going to the range now to finalize a zero at 200 yards.
