rifling and friction in high speed rounds

has anyone had experience in land and groove rifling compared to Metford,Polygonal) rifling using high speed loads.

specifically barrel wear comparison between the two.

Rifle is:

Thompson Encore 6.5-70
1-14 twist 22"
4 groove

current load is:

6.5-70

winchester 45-70 necked to .264
95gr Hornady V-Max
30.5gr H4198
~4200fps

about 1 in 3 will tear themselves apart as they come out of the barrel, barrels last me about 500 rounds before they are useless.

barrels run me around $400 a pop, found a guy who will do them in Metford for $500 if i can get 750 rounds or more through that barrel its a big savings for me.
