Rifle stock for XP100 action?

I have a XP100 action with a custom bull barrel that is currently sitting in a Choate Sniper stock. I would like to get a more traditional bench stock but am not sure what inlet to start with. Can a 700 inlet be modified? Or the XR100 stock? Or do I just get a blank and have the gunsmith do all of the work?

I don't really know of a smith in my area who can handle the complete custom inlet on a blank. But they may be able to adapt another stock. So I was looking for a starting point.

I have a XP100 R action that I use for a Coyote rifle. I got a Accuracy Innovations stock for a Model 7/ XP 100 action. Also if you ask your stock supplier for a XP 100 semi inleting he can or at least be able to do that as the Model 7 Remington must be the same.

Not near as common as a Short action Remington but they are out there. pick up a phone and start calling some of the stock suppliers. They will tell right off the bat if they have them or can do them.

Joel Russo can probably come close to what you want, if not, I have been known to carve them from scratch in laminates.... I just sent one to New Joisey to one of the members......

I contacted Joel and he gave me a good price and pretty good turn around for a drop in. So I think I may have my answer. I like the style of the stock I saw on his site, but there are quite a few dead links on his site. He actually gave me his phone number and asked me to call to make arrangements. What a nice change from those who just tell you to place your order and wait for eternity. Joel seems to have a good reputation and I think I can see why. I will keep you all posted.

By the way, $385 and a 6 week turn around......
