I was looking for a rifle bench rest. I typically shoot by using my arm resting on a pad like I was taught. I did a lot of looking at different models. Then being the cheap SOB (a frugal person), I decided to make one out of my multitude of scrap wood. I took it to the range, and it worked like I knew what I was doing. A couple of other guys tried it and really liked it. I made it adjustable with thumb screws with a thick leather rest for the rifle. It makes shooting easier and provides a good steady rest.
