Rifle Clinic, XTC and LR matches, Memorial Day Weekend, Missoula, MT

Interested in improving your shooting skills? The All National Guard Marksmanship Team will be in Missoula to instruct a rifle clinic. Read below for more info on the clinic and the following long range and XTC matches.

This upcoming Memorial Day Weekend, the Deep Creek Range in Missoula will be hosting a 3 day rifle event, consisting of an Across the Course (XTC) shooting clinic on Saturday, an 80 shot XTC match followed by a 15 shot 800yd match on Sunday, and the weekend concludes with a Palma format (800-900-1000yds) match on Memorial Day. Due to the increased attendance, contact me to reserve a spot on the firing line.

New this year is the “Precision Rifle” Division in long range. This division is for those that want to compete with their long range hunting rifle, a M-24 type rifle, Tactical Rifle or even use a sound suppressor. Request separate “Director’s Match” program for info.

Bring at least 170 rounds of ammo for the XTC matches and 80 rounds of long range ammo if you intend to shoot all available matches over the weekend.

Registration will open Sunday and Monday at 7:30 at the pits, and closes at 8:30.

Following Sunday’s matches, there will be a BBQ. Bring your main dish, and a side dish to pass. The camping is great at the range and there are a few electric hook ups for the RVer’s. For those not wanting to camp there are numerous hotels within 30 minutes of the range.

XTC Clinic Info:
Saturday May 28th - be at the target pits at 8:00AM. The clinic is open to all levels of shooters and will be instructed by the All National Guard Marksmanship Team. Junior shooters will receive free ammo for the clinic from the All Guard Team - other clinic participants will need to bring ~70-80 rounds for the afternoon firing. The day will start with a classroom session at one of the covered ranges followed by a brief intermission for lunch (bring your own). After the lunch break, the All Guard Team will conduct live fire training in an XTC Team match format (50 shots). The clinic participants will receive one-on-one instruction during the team match. The firing will be at 200yds (off hand slow fire and sitting rapid fire), 300yds (prone rapid fire) and 600yds (prone slow fire). Clinic size is limited to 30 shooters. There will also be a team match fired in conjunction with the clinic match in the afternoon (you do not need to be a participant in the clinic to be on a team and pick up teams are authorized). The total amount of shooters for the afternoon team match and clinic is limited to 45 shooters. We have a number of Montana State Rifle and Pistol Association AR15 rifles available for use. Contact us beforehand to confirm their availability.
