Rifle Case for Wide Stocks

This rifle has a 4” wide fore end, too wide for my case. I’m trying to figure out how to transport it. What are Your thoughts on it?

I have two SKB cases that work well with my rifles with 4" wide forends. One is a double rifle case and the other an I-series. Both work well and have plenty of room to spare.

I have one of those SKB cases that holds 4 rifles. Its very heavy empty. So far that's all that I can come up with. Unless I get creative and make one.

You did not say hard or soft. I have a shootlong (soft) rifle case. I have a hammerhead stocked rifle with a 31" barrel, and a 5" wide stock that fits very nicely in this case. It also has a pocket on the side that will hold a lot of stuff. Best case I have found so far. DJB…..at westernshooter.com

Plano makes one with pluck foam. I have it for a 4" stock and it works very well. No sliding once you pluck out the foam to match your rifle and scope. It can also be had on amazon for about 125.00 with prime 2 day shipping. I think I own 5 of them now.

They also have wheels and 2-4 lock rings for padlocks when flying. TSA doesn't seem to be able to break them nor the rifles inside. Which is saying something

Most companies don't make one long enough for guns with 30 to 32 inch barrels with and without brakes. SKB has a really tough case. They have a guarantee where they will pay for damage done by airport people. Matt
