Rifle Basics Trigger Creep

First I had a problem with the firing pin following the bolt on closing. Now I have creep in the trigger. Does anyone have a suggestion, other than sending it back to them, on how to fix this?

SAV-1 or SAV-2 trigger? The SAV-2 triggers take some work to adjust properly and it can be a little frustrating. PM me if you'd like and I can help.

Finding the balance of sear engagement between falling down and creep is easy on some triggers and hard on others. Most of the Rifle Basic triggers I've used needed a very slight amount of creep to keep from following down. Generally the more weight the less you'll feel it. If you really don't like to feel sear engagement a well set up Jewell is pretty nice.
I'm assuming a Remington type trigger..

Wish there was a jewell for a savage.

Two failures of the savage action. Cocking effort and trigger

I've had good luck with the SAV2 following the directions for how to adjust correctly. Are you attempting to set the trigger too light? I got mine down to about 2.25lbs, this being decided by how light I could go and get a crisp and safe pull.

As much as I love my Savages it's accurate to say that the trigger is a weak point. I recently put a Jewell on a Remage Stiller action build and it's amazing. This was one of the deciding reasons behind spending more money than I initially wanted to on my in-progress F-class gun...I decided I was not going to go Savage because I wasn't happy with my light trigger options for a target rifle.

Call the company. I believe the guy that answers is the owner. Very nice guy and he will walk you through the process. I had one of his triggers with creep that just wouldn't go away. Was doing this on the phone and finally he said, "well, we don't have time to waste messing with this particular trigger". He asked for my full address and 2 days later I had another trigger from him set to poundage and no creep!
