Rifle at the top of Page

Just wondering what that rifle is when we log in at the top of the page. Looks like it could be a sleeved Rem. ? I Like it!!
See ya, Les

Hi Les,,,that is the prize for 1st place at the Egg shoot in Hickory NC 7 or 8 yrs ago...its a BAT action (cant remeber which model..) 6mmppc with redwood/balsa stock....very nice...I think Harold won it that yr...Roger

Isn't that a Bat B multi flat action, and that rifle belongs to a well know shooter in the Seattle Wa. Area? It was posted on this site some years ago by the Forum Boss who the owner is. Then again being wrong isn't new for me. Good Luck.

If you are talking about rifle on top of 6mmBR.com (old site), this is Mustafa Bilal's BAT-actioned benchrest rifle of select Turkish Walnut from BestWalnut.com. The stock was crafted by John Pierce.

FYI, we strongly recommend you come in through our new site home page:

http://www.accurateshooter.com

There is more complete navigation on AccurateShooter.com and the search function is faster and better, and we have updated versions of stories.

Yes that is Mustafa's rifle. I know it very well having shot against it (with Mustafa steering it) for several years. Hell of a good shooting rifle, built by Tom Dickson.

ooopsss...well it looks like Im wrong "again",,hahah...there was a rifle very similar given away at the Hickory Egg shoot....and OBTW,,that is an event that every red blooded varmint hunter and rifleman should attend at least once in his life time,,,you will see every brand--cal.--type--style of rifle there is!!! and a unique cross section of shooters....Roger

Regarding egg shoots:
Could I get a brief senario of an egg shoot. I woud like to do one in our area. ( Pie Town NM. )

Thanks, Les

HI Les,,,the Hickory Egg shoot is a combination of groundhog targets at 100-300-500 yds (sometimes the distances vary) and then culminating at 500 (after you have fired at the groundhog and "know" where your gun is hitting!!??) with attempts at eggs....some events around the US use eggs only at various distances and the Bluegrass Baloon Bust (BBB) uses water filled baloons at 200-300-400yds...and if ther is a shoot off usually small candy suckers (aprox 1" in dia.) are used !!!!....these are some of my favorite matches....and at the BBB they have food that is as good as any church picnic you have ever been to,,,mmmm...contact George Coleman (George in KY) for details,,he organizes the event in KY and is a true gentleman......Roger
