Returning to BR shooting

PAYING IT FORWARD EXPECTING NOTHING IN RETURN

Hello everyone
after going threw a triple fusion on my low back, ending up homeless, and now having total hip replacement surgery I need to start putting the one part of my life back together that I lost. See I'm now looking to replace my savage 12f 6mmbr, and can't afford a new one, but can't find a used one. I keep finding the 12f's in 6.5-284. I hear this caliber eats barrels, and purchasing a used one can be scary for what people are asking, and then believing the number of rounds shot.
So any info/advice on this caliber would be great, and is $1000 is a lot of money for me to risk if I buy a used one, and have to replace the barrel right away.
Just a side note. If there is anyone out there looking for lithium batteries for their solar, or RV, I have 8 CA100 100AH batteries I am selling, or trading to help me get back to shooting. They are new, and come with buss bars, bolts, and terminal covers.

I've got a real low round count 12f in 6.5x284 if thats what your looking for. Just going to thin out the stable. Pm me for more info.

Don't be in a rush and hold out for the 6BR, one will pop up for you. Primers are almost impossible to get and powder has been a challenge. The 6.5x284 isn't the round for 600yd BR. Additionally, the powder and bullet expense is higher. Looking forward to seeing you back at our monthly matches.

Glad to see your feeling better, best wishes moving forward.

See this is why I come here. I knew I could find the info I needed from my friends. Thank you Rich and Jim, and yes I will see you back at the shoots soon enough.

Myself I would get a new 6 BR barrel for the one you have. A lot of barrel companies are making pre fit barrel for your rifle...... It will be better than new and spend some money on a better trigger.... jim

Right now I don't have a rifle. I have to replace what I had. So I am now looking for a savage 6mmbr 12F. It is something I can afford, since I now have to replace everything from scratch from reloading to the rifle. At least this time there won't be someone else to steal my things.

Why not put up a wtb ad on here and get a used benchrest rifle ready to go for not much more? You can maybe get brass and dies and maybe assorted other stuff youll need. Location not noted in your profile so i cant help with your equipment
