Retiring from competition

I have decided to retire from Short range BR competition due to the increasing cost and my inability to travel long distances. All of the close ranges have stopped holding BR matches here in the S.E.R. On another note to my valued customers, JDS bullets will still be available and will be so for the foreseeable future. We have a reliable source for BR quality jackets now and will use Sta-Moly (Jeff Pinehart) jackets exclusively. I have made plans to sell my bullet business in the near future and will soon start a training program for the future owner of my business so that quality will not change. If you have any questions please call me.

JD,
I shot some of your bullets today.. I got a large sample from my friend Scott and they shot wonderful---better than anything else I have tried--including Berger and some other custom makers....I'm happy to learn that they will continue to be a available. Good luck with your retirement....I sure have enjoyed mine......George

JD, I still have 2000 of your late 90's vintage 67g bullets lot #70A. Sorry to hear that you are retiring from competitive shooting but I understand, especially when it comes to NBRSA in the Southeast region. I can remember when we used to attend at least a couple of matches a month for the whole season within 1 to 2 hundred miles of me in the Southeast region. Now there is only one NBRSA sanctioned club left within the same amount of distance. I can literally wear myself out attending IBS matches within the same distance nowdays which is the reason I let my NBRSA membership drop and have gone Full Tilt chasing IBS matches. Nonsanctioned Mid to Long Range Money shoots are becoming more and more popular in the NBRSA SE Region also. They draw a lot more participation and make a lot more money for the clubs. I have been giving serious thought to selling out all of my point blank 6PPC rifles and supporting equipment. I have a really nice 6 BR benchrest and another in the making and I'm thinking about taking all of the money from the point blank 6PPC equipment and putting it towards the development of the 6BR benchrest rifles and supporting equipment. I can keep busy just about every other weekend with either IBS shoots or non sanctioned mid range money shoots within just a few hours of where I live.

But..... I do retain fond memories of all those old NBRSA matches that we used to attend in the area and all of my friends that I would meet at those matches of which a lot have now gone to the hereafter.

Regards......

Sorry to hear your quitting the game JD.
I remember when... but that,s history. It's a lot of work for the clubs to put on a ,
Benchrest match, and the powers to be at the ranges would rather not have them .
Then some shooters refuse to travel at all, staying in their own states. That cuts down on participation at the matches.
Why would any club want to host a benchrest group match when after all of that work only 2 dozen or so attend?
If you noticed even the super shoot attendance is down at times. Its Sad'''
