Results - 2017 Cabela's Mid-Atlantic Long Range Regional Championship:

Bridgeville Rifle & Pistol Club wishes to thank everyone who participated in the 2017 Cabela's Mid-Atlantic Long Range Regional and congratulates all of the winners.

In F-Open, congratulations go to Keith Trapp who was the overall winner with a 978-31x, edging Keith Weil by one point - Keith W. posted a 977-31x.

In F-T/R, congratulations go to Phil Kelly as overall winner with a 969-33x, one point better than Tom Hittle who posted a 968 - 28x

Nate Guernsey won the overall in Palma Rifle with a 982-42x and Bill Bowers was the overall winner in Any Rifle on X-Count with a 985-45x, edging out Tom Guercio who posted a 985-35x.

This tournament was fired on the HEX electronic target system and the full results, including a view of everyone's targets, may be found by going to http://shooting.hexsystems.au/competition/index.

Final Match Bulletin is also attached as a pdf file.

Our experience with the HEX system was relatively good. This was Bridgeville's first experience with electronic targets so there was a learning curve and some minor growing pains, but things went well, overall.

There was one tablet that went down and had to be replaced on Saturday and we learned that for the system to work accurately and effectively, bullets must remain supersonic at the target line.

On a personal note - this was my first experience on electronic targets and my learning curve is still curving - I miss my white spotter and I miss the satisfaction of watching the target go down after the shot - I guess I'll eventually get used to it... I hope.

Again, thanks to all who shot with us and congratulations to all the winners.

And a very big THANK YOU!!! to Cabela's and all of the other sponsors and donors (too numerous to list here) who helped make this a successful and enjoyable event - THANKS!

As a final note, Cabela's sent two of their employees down to shoot with us - this was their very first Long Range event - and for beginners they did very well, especially given the equipment they were using - good guys, good sportsmen, and now good friends. And they say that they will be back - I think we may have them hooked.

Looking forward to seeing everyone coming back to Bridgeville for next year's 2018 Cabela's Mid-Atlantic Long Range Regional.

I enjoyed this match, as always run very well, the targets worked fine it was a learning curve to input information correctly. Any kid could have done it but I struggled some, next match should be very smooth after seeing how intuitive the process is, the targets operated perfectly for me. Joe

Joe - Good shooting - I see you won the Palma Master Class - good job!

This was my second time to the Cabela's LR Regional. This is the second best Range I have shot on (biased to Reade Range)

My third time on the Hex Targets and I have to say, given a choice between Hex and pulling Targets there is no option. These things are GREAT!!!

Shot on the Silver Mountain Targets in Fla and they were not as good as Hex but still the wave of the future.

Closing I want to thank all the people that run the match. This is an annual pilgrimage for me now. If you haven't been there you need to go.

Thanks to the crew at Bridgeville for their confidence in the HEXTA targets. Your patience, as we at HEX Systems and goBallistic, evolve our Match-Grade Targets to the American way of life.

The days process will get simpler!

I look forward to being there for a match.
