I am having my first rifle built in 6mmBR to give F class, open) a go.
I,ve been shooting F class standard with a Bi-pod but note that few F open people use one, so please give me the drift on what to look for/ how to set up etc.
Chris,
A lot have looked at your post but no one has replied! Yes, a lot of serious F Class shooters use a full benchrest style set-up but I reckon it's possible to shoot well off a bi-pod and back-bag but you need to learn it. There is a great article on the Forum by Froggy - 'bugholes from the bi-pod' definitely worth a read. Start off on the bi-pod and if you think it's holding you back go for a proper benchrest set-up but learn for a season first.

I am no one to take advice from but I have shot from both bipods and rest with the same gun and came out with more consistant groups with a rest. If you are spending 60-70.00 bucks on a bipod I would opt to spend ~50-60.00 more and get the new windage rest from Midway and go that route.
That new Midway looks like a lot of rest for the price, but it appears there's a problem with the windage adjuster. It just free-wheels in one direction with the weight of the rifle. Apparently Midway is working on a fix right now.
