I would like to give a big Thank You to Bob Pastor the "Viper". Bob builds custom rests and as far as I am concerned the best Customs out there. I own two of Bob's rest one for Benchrest and also one for F-Class. Great solid rest without equal.
About 6 months ago at a garage sale I bought this sorry old worn out rest just for a wall hanger. I wish I had taken pictures of that pitiful old thing, but that never occurred to me of this $1.00 garage sale rest. Every thread was buggered up and it had been rode hard and put up wet more than once that's for sure. It had some strange windage top on it that worked kinda, and a stock stop that was held on with tape.
I mentioned to Bob on the phone one day that I had this thing and he said send it to me and I will make it better and at least good enough were you could maybe even use it as a spare one day. I sent the rest to Bob and he did his thing. When I opened the box yesterday and saw what he had done I just had to share some pictures. Maybe one of you guys will run into a beat up old thing like this one day. if you do there just may be some life left in it after all.
