resonably priced 260 sporter weight barrel

I am the owner of a Ruger m77 mk2. It sports the factory barrel wich is mediocore but huntable.I would like a better sporter weight barrel with the most versatility shooting 100 to 125 gr bullits.I think that even with the 125gr nosler partitions theres enough bullit for tough critters like elk as long as shot placement is always good wich Im very selective of.

You're more brave than I. I'd prefer the 140gr XLC or 130gr TSX for elk. If that front core strips off on a rib, all you'll get is a .264 hole punch through the elk. I'm sure 7 or 8 of 10 will go down with the 125gr partition no problem, it's the 2 or 3 of 10 I'm worried about. I know some folks have had lots of problems with partions, but somefolks can get SMKs to shoot from their barrels either... I've played with the Xs, XLCs, and TSXs. All have shot well in my rifles.
Best of luck with what ever you choose!
