Resizing 7-08 brass to make .260AI- Neck thickness question?

I am looking at getting better brass for my .260AI,currently using rem). I see that Winchester makes 7-08 brass. I make a false shoulder by sizing my 260 brass to 7mm then resizing all but alittle bit at the neck shoulder junction so that during fireforming I have a crush fit.
2 questions:
1. Would I be better off with the Winchester Brass over Rem? I find that in my .223 it is better.
2. Would I have to turn the inside of the necks- I have a standard SAMMI chamber in a Shilen Match bbl.?

I am pretty sure that I would have to turn the necks with the .308 Lapua brass.

What do you think?

I have used 7-08 brass to make 260 brass and have had no issues. I DID have issues when I tried to use 308 brass to make 260 brass. The necks were much too thick in a min spec saami chamber.

Savageboy: I think it would be worth trying the 7mm-08 Win. brass. I have been sizing 7mm Mauser Win. brass to .257 and fireforming to .257 Roberts AI for years - leaves loaded neck .0035-.004" less than fired neck and gives good accuracy. Measure a fired case neck, then neck down a new 7mm-08 to 6.5mm, seat a bullet and measure OD on the neck. Then you'll KNOW if the loaded round OD is less than, equal to or greater than a fired case neck OD and whether you need to turn the necks.,Chamber neck will be slightly larger than fired case neck, of course, because of brass rebound, but this way keeps it safe).

Hope this helps!
