Reports on CZ 457's

not sure if this is the right forum or not after reading the new forum rules?? o-well

I have a friend that purchased the MTR, American and the Varmint 457 CZ's and noe of them shoot worth wasting ammo on, according to him. Another guy has a bolt on his American that the ejectors blades look like a grinder man worked for ten minutes on the end on the bolt, he had to send the bolt back, makes u wonder how they shot the test rounds into the bull, buy the way they use three rounds now not 5, or they did on his. Where is the Quality Control CZ??? I have three 452's and love them but , I had the most beautiful FS 455 that I had to sell because after 2000 rounds it couldn't shoot at 25, 50 or 100 yards.... This has made me look into a new Anschutz 1416D and I know they cost three times more but U might have three times more.... Well I'm on HOLD with the 457's until I get some positive reports!! :(

I'm sure we will be happy with the 457's, because the 452 and 453's were real nice, might have to give them some time??

There is a guy over on RFC that has a new CZ 457 in 17 HMR and his appears to shoot pretty well.

Watch RFC... usually a few good guys w honest experience on there... but after a few bad experiences of my own buying first available of a new model, I’d suggest giving CZ a little time to iron out the wrinkles before buying one

I recently bought a 457MTR. None of the QC problems some have reported. Fit and finish are excellent, including the machining of the pillars which are out of sight. First range session the trigger was set too high, and my Harris bipod was not quite right but I finished shooting numerous .35 to .55in groups (5 shots at 50yd). Trigger adjusted much lower, bipod fixed, hitting 100yd soon. The MTR costs a bit more, and I chose it as the ergonomics fit prone shooting. Only upgrade is a larger bolt knob on order. The percentage of QC errors is unknown, nut I am very pleased and would buy again.
