Replacement stock for a Stevens 2oo short action?

I used a Stevens stagger feed receiver for a build and the bolt spacing on the receiver is killing me on stock choices. Most stocks have a bolt spacing of 4.410 or 4.275. My Stevens is like the older model 12 with a spacing of 4.250. I was going to use the new Choate Tactical but it is 4.275. Any suggestions? Should I buy the Choate and just modify?
Thanks-pyscodog

The .025" in spacing difference isn't likely to cause a huge issue, and can be easily fixed with a good pillar bedding job which will be of great benefit anyway.

You can likely use it as is, and at worst need to drill one hole out very slightly oversize if you don't want to pillar bed. But pillar bedding will solve the issue and benefit you at the same time. It's the way to go.

The choate has a aluminum bedding block like the H-S, so pillars aren't necessary. Probably would bed it though.

A short action stevens 200 has the same bolt spacing as an older staggered short action savage. They are the same actions taken off the same line.

savage short action 4.522" for 1959 to 1988. 4.275" for 1998 to 2005, these were the stagger feed action. 4.4" for 2006 and newer are the centerfeed. sounds like your ruler GREW lol.
did it come with the cheap gray pillar bedded stock, if so, it sounds like 4.275 cliffe

use the choate stock for the Savage short action in tactical or varmit. the 10;11;12;etc are the short actions and will fit the 200

Ordered a Choate Tactical. Received it and it fit like a glove. Problems solved. Well, at least that one.
