Remmy Model 7 comes alive

This project started out with a Remmy Model 7 in 308 with a 22" pencil factory barrel and a cheap remmy plastic stock. I could not get her to shoot under 1 1/2". It went up for sale and everytime someone called to buy it something made me say its sold. I ordered a Boyds Thumbhole stock and bedded the action and 3" up the barrel. My first outing with some loads proved to be promising. Looked at the targets and worked some more loads and the second outing proved why my gut feeling was DONT SELL ME.

Good deal. You made the right choice especially if it is a stock gun . I have sime remmys that plain shoot.

Didnt the doc tell u not to take Viagra before going shooting???

That boyds $100 stock fit like a glove. Very little sanding to get the barrel lined up in the channel.

That's a beautiful thing, esp. for the $.

Why buy a $3000 rifle when an old rem, know-how & a $100 stock will do the job?

Being that she is just a pa whitetail gun i had no need to chronograph her. I can tell u that i shot a whitetail with this load and it flipped back and laid dead.

I would have to say its effective then.
