remm 700 trigger

Not if you know what you are doing . If you dont you need to let someone else do it . But if you want a real light and consistant pull you need to replace it with a Jewell or a Rifle Basix .

They can be safely adjusted down to around 2lbs. If you want to go lower than that you need to get a custom trigger. I think I have a copy of Remingtons directions around here, but I'm not sure if they are in an electronic form -- I'll check.

SPM--There was an extensive article in The Varmint Hunter Magazine July 2001, Issue #39, beginning on page 5 entitled "How to Adjust and Replace a Remington 700 Trigger" by John Antanies.

There was another writeup entitled "Remington Trigger Adjustments" in some magazine I read and the article is dated, May 14, 2000, and it was by Paul “Pablito” Coburn. I'll attach the Word document for this last article to this reply. I have the first article mentioned in the parargraph above saved as a Word document too, but it is about 600 KB in size and I believe the maximum document size for this Board is 151 KB, so I won't attach that one.
