Remington trigger help!!

I need to know what spring or spring kit to get to lighten a Remington 700 trigger. Would like to be around 10 oz.

Dunno 'bout 10 oz but this guy do offer, amongst other stuff, pull weight reduction springs and “how to” for the older 700 triggers, both versions of that X-Mark thingy, plus springs for a number of the off brand triggers. Ain’t like you’re messing with engagement surfaces so if folk pays attention, they can safely improve their own triggers.

Just buy a replacement trigger like a jewell and save yourself the aggravation, getting a stock trigger down to 10 oz is not easy if you don't have lots of experience.

I've done several of my own. The guy that does mine have me a length of spring stock and I've missed placed it and can't remember the compression poundage he said it was.

I agree with buying a Jewell or another premium aftermarket trigger, but, if you insist on doing it yourself, I'd still recommend this from Jard. It's money well spent IMHO, and I've done this stuff for a living for about 15 years, now. It takes a lot of time and know how to make a factory Remmy trigger that light..and safely functional. This kit is the way to go, short of buying a Jewell.--Mike Ezell

Yelp at them prices I will just order a trigger. It's for my varmint gun not a bench gun. I think a rifle basix would be just fine. Thanks

Shooter, if you yelp at $62, you'll cry at a Rifle Basix that goes to 10-12 ounces. The Jard kit is a less than 1/2 the cost of the Basix. I don't use many Basix triggers, because if you're going to spend that much, why not just get a Jewell and be done with it..I don't know of a better option for the price. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Maybe someone else knows of a cheaper option. Otherwise, I guess you'll find out what's involved in getting a factory Remington trigger to 9 ounces.

Hint..it's more than a spring. ;)

Yes I understand that I have a few jewels but this rifle is just a summer burner for prairie dogs. just not wanting to put a ton of money in it.

I have honed a few to around that range before, but as I stated I just moved and lost the string stock the gunsmith that showed me how to do it gave me. So I do know what it takes just can't remember the compression strength he said it was.
