Remington Sendero SF

Hi guys
Anyone out there have any accurate info on the Remington Sendero.
I have recently read a couple of articles in 2 New Zealand shooting mags about this rifle and quite frankly was stunned by
their performance, for a over the counter hunting rifle).
One was in 7mm Rem Ultra Mag and scoped with a 6.5-20x Weaver and was consistently responsible for the demise of many sika deer at 500-600yds,and 2.5-3 inch 3 shot groups at 600yds with
hand loads. WOW.

I have searched the net and found only 1 review of this rifle.
Sadly it had a bedding problem,,so much for quality control) and when compered with two other rifles in the bench test it produced pretty poor results.

So how does Mr Remington produce such a accurate weapon?

Is it the barrel?,chamber?,action?,bedding?stock?trigger?...or just a good mix of the parts?.

The Remington add states.... The model 700 Sendero SF2 are finely tuned tack-drivers created using input from serious shooters across America.

So.. could someone please send me some good detailed data on
these rifles.

Many thanks
Greg

I have the same rifle as you have Catshooter, except it is in a 7mm Rem Mag. I handload for it and feed it 65.5 gr. of RL-19 behind a 140 CT BT Nosler bullet. I have consistantly taken out 20 oz. pop bottles filled with water at 500 and 600 yrds. with no problem at all. It will shoot 3 shots in a ragged hole when I do my part and I have shot a couple of 5 shot groups that was really impressive too. I have a Leupold Comp. 45 X 45 scope mounted on it and Rifle Basics 2 oz. trigger. I have not done anything to it other than that. Bill

Bill,
Have you had a chance to try your Sendero at long range with bullets like the 175 SMK or the Berger 180 VLD?

Just curious.

I had a Sendero in 7mm Mag that was made around 2001 and it was a very impressive rifle once it was bedded and I got the trigger cleaned up. Like billmo, I found RL-19 and a 140 grain bullet to shoot extremely well.

Billy, I have not shot anything from it but the 140 gr. BT CT The dog gone thing shoots so good with'em I hate to even mess with anything else. I have shot up to 168 gr. bergers in other 7mm Mags in the past but I don't ever remember shooting anything any heavier than that. I know I should try the heavier bullets because everybody says they shoot good. Thanks, Bill
