Get out you flannel hit the woods this year in vintage style while toting the first commercially successful sporting autoloader in the Remington model 8/ model 81. This is a long recoil operated auto designed by John Browning. Chambered in .300 Savage, this one has a little more guts than the .25/.30/.32 Remington versions and shares with the .35 Remington a broader and more available selection of ammo.

This rifle is in good condition for it's age. The bore is a little frosty, but that doesn't hurt accuracy much since there wasn't much accuracy to hurt to begin with. Seriously though, the member I got it from might chime in with a load he had success with. I didn't spend much time trying to squeeze good groups out of it.

The wood is in very good condition with normal evidence of age and use. The metal is also in nice shape with some areas of fading and light freckling.

I'm including the Redfield receiver sight. Anyone who's looked for one of these knows how hard to find and expensive they can be. Also including dies, and brass (around 100). I've enjoyed my time with it, but it rarely goes out anymore and I've got eyes on some semi obscure European stuff.

The pictured stripper clip is US 7.62, not factory Remington. It functions ok. I had better luck with it than the 3D printed versions for sale.

Asking $900 shipped.
