Remington Extractor.

Hi Guys,
Is there a special technique or a special tool for removing the current style Remington 700 extractor? Thanks.

Ian.

If you remove it u need to replace with new or a sako style extractor. You'll see a small pin just in front of your lugs,it acully a rivet. Use a small center punch and give it ONE good smack with a hammer on the pin driveing it downwards, then use a small punch to drive it the rest of the ways. acully pretty simple.

Zeke,
Thanks for that, but it the springy rivetless type, rather like a circlip.
I could probably lever it out with a small pick but i dont want to risk damaging the bolt face.

Ian.

I use a broken dental pick. Put it in the small hole at one end of the extractor and rotate the extractor up onto the "bump" and it just seems to come out real easy from that point.
Easier done than described.
