Remington Etronx

I inherited a Remington Etronx rifle in 243 win. I have two questions:
1. Are the reloading recipes for a regular 243 win the same (or similar) to that of a Etronx 243 win?
2. I am missing the on/off key. Where can I purchase a key for this rifle?

Help?

No direct experience with the Etronx; just read a lot about it.
Except for the ignition system I don't see any difference between this .243 and any other Remington 700 .243.
But never having had my hands on one I can't and don't offer any advice here.
Here's some reading that might help you.

Should be about same but like any rifle/data start several grains below max and work up to be safe. Mine shot well with a grain under max of IMR4350 and 70BT but that was MINE. Converted it to conventional rd then sadly sold it, was a super shooter.

As for a key if Rem doesn't have one put WTB posts on here and other hunting/shooting forums and you might find one. Have no idea if the 3 different available calibers were all the same but would expect they were????

Yer mileage may vary.

Respectfully,
Dennis

i had two of them. one i had rebarreled to 6xc and it was the most accurate gun i've ever owned (and that's saying a lot) and the other had a factory 220swift barrel and it didn't shoot well at all, though i'm confident it would have been fine after rebarreling.

anyway, i couldn't say if the etronx primers were hot or cold relative to normal ones, but the standard "start 10% low and work up" rule probably will serve you well.

no clue on the key. however, if it were me, and recognizing it's just a switch, worse case i believe you can take the stock off and just short the two wires together that go to the key. i am assuming it's not that complicated electrically. i don't actually know.
