Remington BDL bottom metal ??

Is the SA 700 BDL floor plate the same for 308 and 223.
Will the magazine box for a 223 fit a 308 trigger guard floor plate.
Third party SA 700's are listed as not suitable for 223.
whats the difference?

Floor plates are the same but the 223 magazine box has the filler at the back for the shorter 223 ctg.

Check with Andy at Hawkens Precision, or Sunny Hill. Both make the best after market bottom metal for Remingtons and clones.
The Remington factory boxes will work in either of these bottom metals.

Besides the black in the back of the magazine the inner shape is different in the .223 box, also, to accommodate the smaller diameter cartridges. +1 on that Sunny Hill Enterprises bottom metal....
