Remington AR release

thought you all might find this interesting:

camo ar-15? partnership,purchase of) bushmaster

.204 Ruger? That is curious, even if the web site says so, as it is too long for a conventional AR-15 Magazine. You may recall that the,.223 Rem)5.56 NATO was created to fit the magazine length as the .222 Rem Mag, from which the .204 Ruger is formed, was too long.

It appears that the .204 Ruger is factory loaded to an OAL of 2.2598" which will just make it into a standard AR15 .223 magazine. No doubt the shorter length of the .20 caliber bullet is the contributing factor.

This development causes me to wonder if this new offering from Remington won't be stealing the thunder from their Bushmaster lineup. Oh well, the automobile makers have been doing this for years. But look at the financial shape they've been in lately ;)

Evidently it will just fit.

Cheers

Is this new Remington really going to be called the "ZTV", a/k/a the Zumbo Tactical Varminter?
Rustystud

p.s. I hope everyone got a good laugh!

I understand Joe Biden has already has a bill in the senate to out laws this rifle.

Pardon my lack of excitement, but wow. I wonder how long the innovative engineers at Remington worked to develop a semi-auto .223 Remington that looks much like a rifle designed by Eugene Stoner in the 1950s.

What will they come up with next? Despite the name of this website and all of the accolades regarding the cartridge, Remington, the originator of the cartridge, still has not produced a factory rifle in 6mmBR. Sad....

Keep up the good, innovative, and responsive product development Savage. At least one of the larger domestic manufacturers is paying attention.

Darn you guys are ahead of me. I like to break the news of this kind of stuff in the Bulletin before anybody else.

However, if you go back a few months in the bulletin, I predicted a Remington AR15 when Cerberus acquired Remington Arms. Cerberus, a holding company, had previously purchased Bushmaster, and it was easy to connect the dots. Bushmaster builds it, Rem slaps its name on it.

And doing a mighty fine job too man. I have always liked Rem and still do but they don't seem to be interested in improving on accuracy nor contributing to the cause as much as Savage is.

Why does everything have to be camoed anymore. Anyone who thinks it helps in a hunting situation is sorely mistaken. It's the movement that gives you away.
Now where did I put those camo condoms?

I just think that Remington is trying to disassociate itself from those 'evil black rifles' while still profiting from them.
