I HAVE A REM MODEL 7 IN 308AND WOULD LIKE TO USE IT AS A DONNOR RIFLE AND BUILD A TACTICAL OR A F-CLASS IN 6.5-284 OR ANOTHER WILDCAT OPEN FOR SUGESTIONS.
WILL THIS ACTION WORK OR IS THE 700 BETTER TO START WITH?

Robster, I shoot a single-shot custom action chambered in 6.5-284 and would recommend you consider a long action for this cartridge. Since you stated you would use it in Tactical matches and possibly F-class, you would be using the longer, heavier bullets. Going to be hard to feed them through a Model 7 magazine. Just my opinion. Hope this helps you decide.
