Remington 760 magazine

Looking for a friend,

He inherited his grandfather's Remington 760 pump in 300 savage. It is missing the magazine.

Will all the short action magazine's function with the 300 Savage. I searched on the net and get different opinions. some have said no, that the 300 needs a spacer. others say yes.

Can't find a magazine specifically for the 300 Savage.

look for the same magazine as used in .243 and .308--I think they all have spacer. google and look at pics---my net is too slow to do it today
