Remington 722 bolt removal

Look on the lower left side where the bolt goes in and see if there is a spring loaded catch that is holding it in place that needs to be held down..
It's been a looooong time since I've had one..

It should have a bolt release lever, in front of the trigger, like a 700. If not, using a small screwdriver or punch will depress the boltstop just like an XP-100 or 600.

My first centerfire rifle was a 722 in .244 Remington. This brings back some pleasant memories. It was not the prettiest rifle but it shot very well for the time.
