Remington 700 SPS stainless vs XCR

I have heard that the only difference between the Remington 700 XCR and SPS stainless is the Nitrolite finish on the XCR and ruber overmolds on same rifle. That in every other aspect of quality the rifles are identical. I am thinking of getting rid of my XCR 270 rem to get a 7-08 SPS stainless as a project rifle. The stock will be the first thing to get dumped for a Bell and Carlson or McMillian. Then the trigger and carefull barrel break in for starters. Are there any differences between the XCR and SPS other than I already mentioned?
