Remington 700 Magpul

Hi all, I am new here and will have lots of question's in he future. I just purchased a Remington 700 Magpul in .308. My question is, can I use 7.62 in this rifle. I thought I read somewhere that the pressures may be too high.

Hi! And welcome. Mil surplus 7.62 x51 will shoot in your gun. I've heard arguments about the 5.56 mil surplus giving problems with high pressures but I haven't experienced it.

It will work. It might not shoot well but it will work. I think the military standard for accuracy is 3 MOA for issued side arms.

The issue comes in semi autos, specifically, an AR chambered in .223 Rem, but people run 5.56 through them. That's where you run into pressure issues.

A bolt rifle can handle 7.62 pressures fine.
