Building a 7PRC using the Remington 700 Magnum action and will be using the Hawkins flush Hunter DBM and magazine.
It requires some machining on the rear to fit. I saw video of this couple of months ago but can't find it now. No answer from Hawkins yet. Has anyone seen this and can point me in the right direction? It's not difficult and I have equipment to do it.

Where does it require machining? I’ve done a hand full of them on Std. and Mag actions and have yet to modify either one.

I install them all the time with no mods. Install the metal with the correct pillars on the action out of the stock to check the fit

According to website modification is required for my action, which is the older style with third small receiver screw that I believe has been eliminated on newer actions. This prevents the magazine from seating properly. Easy to machine off.

Interesting, all the actions I have done have been customs so I can’t attest to the Remingtons, however some of those customs have had the third screw location and with proper pillar height have not needed removed.

You have a link to a internal box magazine but you are asking about DBM. If you are referring to BDL and wanting to use an extended box magazine then yes you will have to remove the third screw.

Most custom actions don’t require modifying, but there are a few that do. The M5 flush mount Hawkins DBM Hunter my customer will be using requires the specific magazine and is not the common AICS or Wyatt type. I will cut as required to insure proper functioning. Customer is a guide and wants a light weight rig so building what he desires.
