Remington 700 firing pin sizes

Hi! I have a remington 700 adl 222 remington. I wonder if remington use smaller firing pins in these or do they make a one sized firing pin for all calibers despite large or small primers. Thanks

one size. If you're having cratering problems, bushing is the solution. --Jerry

I use a small firing pin for all calibers. The higher he pressure, the more you need a smaller firing pin, and pressure depends on a lot of things. Small cartridges can have high pressure. SAAMI spec pressure for your round is 50KSI. If you're handloading, running it hot, it would not surprise me at all if you're seeing cratered primers. I charge $80 including return shipping for bushing which is pretty standard. If you see someone charging more, it is likely hey are just busy and focusing on building rifles rather than small jobs, not necessarily an indication they their prices overall are high. As was said in a previous thread, you can't swing a dead cat around here without hitting someone who bushes firing pins. --Jerry
